ABSTRACT A constant ratio-mixing valve for mixing hot and cold flows of water to generate a tempered hot water outlet flow. Hot and cold water flow impedances are utilized for setting the ratio of hot and cold water entering the mixing valve. A buoyancy device is used to prevent thermal convection currents as well as momentary scalding water temperatures being output from the valve. The valve contains minimal moving parts and is characterized by low cost and high reliability.
