A DC constant voltage circuit comprising a rectifier 11 and a boosting chopper circuit 31 controlled by a general purpose PWM control IC 52, featuring a reference voltage Vref added to said IC 52 and an output voltage aadded to No.1 pin which serves to regulate the output voltage by a PWM and a voltage which is similar to a waveform of an input current of just rectificated added to No.2 pin and phases of voltages of No.1 pin and No.2 pin adjusted to each other to improve the power factor. Also, an AC constant voltage circuit comprising a common line 16 connecting an AC input terminal 3 and an output terminal 9, the positive and negative boosting chopper circuits 31 and 32 for boosting and chopping a DC voltage of half -wave rectified respectively in both positive and negative sides and a DC -AC inverter 37 for inverting the DC voltage into the AC voltage, featuring said positive and negative boosting chopper circuits 31 and 32 used as a filter for improving the power factor and a waveform of the input current figured to the sine full waveform which is similar to waveform of the input voltage and whose phase is adjusted to the phase of the input voltage.
