Substantially purified CDR1 polypeptide, isolated polynucleotides encoding CDR1 polypeptide, vectors containing CDR1, host cells expressing CDR1, and antibodies which bind to CDR1 are all provided. The invention also provides a method of producing a genetically modified plant characterized as having increased disease resistance as compared to wild-type plants. A method is also provided for identifying novel disease resistance genes by probing a nucleic acid library with at least a fragment of a polynucleotide encoding CDR1, and selecting those clones that hybridize with the fragment.
L'invention concerne un polypeptide CDR1 sensiblement purifié, des polynucléotides isolés codant le polypeptide CDR1, des vecteurs contenant le CDR1, des cellules hôtes exprimant CDR1 et des anticorps se liant à CDR1. L'invention concerne également une méthode de production d'une plante génétiquement modifiée caractérisée en ce qu'elle présente une résistance accrue aux maladies comparées à des plantes de type sauvage. L'invention concerne également une méthode d'identification de nouveaux gènes de résistance aux maladies par exploration d'une banque d'acides nucléiques avec au moins un fragment d'un polynucléotide codant CRD1 et sélection des clones s'hybridant au fragment.
