A construct for buildings includes a steel pipe member and reinforcing elements crossing the interior of the pipe member in the longitudinal direction. Holes for the reinforcing elements are formed at mounting positions for the reinforcing elements on an outer peripheral portion of the pipe member having a width meeting width dimensions of the reinforcing elements. The reinforcing elements are inserted through the holes from the outer peripheral surface of the steel pipe member to the interior in a direction that is substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the steel pipe member
