A construction block to be used with other similar blocks in order to construct panels of a building which is formed of a pair of substantially planar panels located in juxtaposition and spaced apart forming a space between the panel. Within the space between the panel, there is to be poured a quantity of uncured wet aggregate and cement mixture which is then to harden into a solid mass. Each of the panels is to be constructed of expanded polystyrene beads. The panels are secured together through a metallic tie rod assembly which is located principally in the space between the panels. The exterior surface of each of the panels includes a plurality of vertical grooves and within each groove is to be located a wooden strip which is to be penetrated by conventional fasteners to thereby mountingly secure a desired structural member onto an exterior surface of the construction block. A wire interconnecting frame is to be located in the space between the panels and across the joint of a pair of connected blocks to provide lateral support for the joint.
Bloc de construction utilisable avec d'autres blocs similaires pour fabriquer des panneaux de bâtiment constitués d'une paire de panneaux plats placés l'un à côté de l'autre et espacés l'un par rapport à l'autre pour former un espace entre les deux. Cet espace entre les panneaux est destiné à recevoir une certaine quantité de mélange de ciment et d'agrégats humides non traités qui, après durcissement, forment une masse solide. Chacun de ces panneaux est constitué de billes de polystyrène expansé et ils sont rattachés les uns aux autres par une structure de tirants métalliques disposés principalement au niveau de l'espace entre les deux panneaux. La surface extérieure de chacun de ces panneaux présente un certain nombre de rainures verticales à l'intérieur desquelles se trouve une bande en bois dans laquelle on introduit des attaches de type courant pour assujettir la pièce de charpente désirée sur une surface extérieure du bloc de construction. Un cadre de raccordement en fils métalliques est placé dans l'espace compris entre les panneaux et posé transversalement sur le joint d'une paire de blocs interreliés pour soutenir latéralement ce joint.
