ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In an exemplary embodiment, two clamping parts which are mounted pivotally about a shaft for movement oppositely relative to one another in the manner of tongs, have a spring therebetween which compresses the clamping ends of the clamping parts for the purpose of clamping engagement with an electrode or the like. Manual gripping portions disposed on the other side of the pivot shaft from the clamping ends, are manually compressed for the purpose of open- ing the clamp connection, at least one of the manual gripping portions receives a conductor which electrically connects with at least one of the clamping ends. It is the object of the disclosure to create a contact clip which is optimally ensured against breakage and which simultaneously presents no problems regarding cleansing. This object is achieved in that the gripping portions of the clamp- ing parts are provided with one cavity each, which cavities during pivotal move- ments of the clamping parts, movably interengage whereby, simultaneously, in every clamping part position between the clamped and open state, extensive seal- ing-off of the interior space toward the exterior is guaranteed due to the interengaging cavities, and that a spring for spreading the gripping portions to be manually operated is seated inside these cavities.
