A contact lens for use with an asymmetric aspherical cornea. The lens includes an anterior surface, a posterior surface and a base. The posterior and anterior surfaces each include a center optical portion (36) and an outer peripheral corneal portion (34). The posterior surface is divided into a plurality of local surface segments (66) by a plurality of radially extending boundaries that originate from a common center point on the posterior surface of the lens. Each of the local surface segments (66) conforms to the shape of a corresponding local surface portion of the cornea that lies under the respective lens local surface segment when the lens is worn on the eye.

Une lentille ou verre de contact est destinée à être utilisée avec une cornée asphérique asymétrique. La lentille comprend une surface antérieure, une surface postérieure et une base. Les surfaces postérieure et antérieure comprennent chacune une partie optique centrale (36) et une partie cornéenne périphérique externe (34). La surface postérieure est divisée en plusieurs segments superficiels locaux (66) par plusieurs lignes de délimitation radiales qui partent d'un point central commun se trouvant sur la surface postérieure de la lentille. Chacun des segments superficiels locaux (66) épouse la forme d'une partie superficielle locale correspondante de la cornée qui se trouve sous le segment superficiel local respectif de la lentille lorsque cette dernière est placée sur l'oeil.
