-1- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A package, article, and a method for cleaning a contact lens is disclosed, the method comprising providing a non-woven fibrous web optionally containing a surfactant wherein the average fiber diameter up to 50 microns and the web density has in the range of 80 to 97 percent voids, contacting and rubbing the lens with the fibrous web, and removing the lens from contact with the fibrous web.
