A method for tracking multiple SKUs of contact lenses in a manufacturing line comprising the steps of: a) moulding a plurality of contact lenses, b) providing a plurality of carriers each having a carrier indicator, c) inspecting each contact lens to determine information relating to its prescription, d) transferring each lens to a carrier, e) reading the carrier indicator of the carrier of step d) and f) storing in machine-accessible memory the information associated with the carrier indicator of the carrier of step (e) and the information relating to the lens for step (c).

L'invention concerne un procédé pour assurer le suivi des unités de stock de lentilles de contact dans une chaîne de fabrication, qui consiste en ce qui suit: a) mouler une pluralité de lentilles de contact, b) former une pluralité de supports dont chacun comporte un indicateur de support, c) inspecter chaque lentille de contact pour déterminer les informations relatives à l'ordonnance qui s'y rapporte, d) transporter chaque lentille à destination d'un support, e) lire l'indicateur de support sur le support du stade (d) et f) stocker dans une mémoire accessible à une machine les informations associées à l'indicateur de support relatif au support du stade (e) et les informations en rapport avec la lentille du stade (c).
