The package includes a container defining a storage reservoir and having a peripheral outwardly-extending flange, a cover for affixing to the container to provide a liquid-impermeable seal, improved means for grasping/stabilizing the container and improved means for grasping the cover during opening of the package to retrieve the contact lens retained therein.
