The present invention provides a process of preparing a contact lens comprising polymerising a polymerisable mixture, wherein said polymerisable mixture has the principal polymerisable monomers hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA) and 2,3-dihydroxypropyl methacrylate (GMA). In another embodiment, the present invention provides an unhydrated contact lens comprising a polymer containing an alkali metal salt of (meth)acrylic acid and a process of preparing an unhydrated contact lens comprising polymerising a polymerisable mixture, wherein said polymerisable mixture includes an alkali metal salt of (meth)acrylic acid.

La présente invention porte sur un procédé de préparation d'une lentille de contact qui consiste à polymériser un mélange polymérisable, ce mélange polymérisable possédant les monomères polymérisables principaux tels que méthacrylate d'hydroxypropyle (HPMA) et méthacrylate 2,3-dihydroxypropyle (GMA). Selon une autre forme d'exécution, la présente invention porte sur une lentille de contact non hydratée comprenant un polymère contenant un sel de métal alcalin de l'acide (méth)acrylique et sur un procédé de préparation d'une lentille de contact non hydratée consistant à polymériser un mélange polymérisable, ce mélange polymérisable comprenant un sel de métal alcalin de l'acide (méth)acrylique.
