Abstract of the Disclosure A container is composed of a lid and a container body with a flange, the lid and the flange being disposed in order to assume fixed positions relative to one another in an originally sealed con- tainer and thereby achieve a tight closure of the container. The container includes, in accordance with the invention, a frame-like connection device which is disposed with a first attachment section and a second attachment section which by means of tight joints are affixed to the flange and to the lid respectively, enabling the connection device in combination with the lid to form a tight closure of the container body. In a preferred embodiment, the joints are weld joints. In a preferred embodiment, a weakening zone is disposed between the two attachment sections in addition to which a downward-facing flange is also disposed in this region. In a resealed container, the outer sur- face of the flange abuts sealingly an inner surface of the orifice wall of the container. In certain embodi- ments, the walls of the container, the lid and the connection device are disposed with layers of high- barrier material.
