ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A container which has a manually engagable handle comprises a pair of oppositely disposed side wall panels and a pair of oppositely disposed end wall panels each having an upper edge, a pair of first flaps each having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal ends being hingedly connected one to the upper edge of each side wall. A pair of handle flaps hingedly connected one to the distal end of each first flap, each of the handle flaps being formed with a handle opening which extends therethrough. The first flaps have a sufficient length to extend across an upper end of the container to locate the handle flaps in an overlapping face-to-face upwardly extending position with said handle openings being arranged to be aligned with one another when said handle flaps are in said upwardly extending position. At least one second flap is also provided which has a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of each second flap being hingedly connected to an upper edge of one of the end walls. Each second flap has a locking tab projecting laterally at its distal end. Each second flap is proportioned to extend across the carton to overlie the first flaps and locate its locking tab in a locking position extending through said handle openings and cooperating therewith to interlock the first and second flaps.
