ABSTRACT The invention relates to a container (60) and a closure (1) for a container. Theclosure (1) includes a frame (2) and closure portions (16,18) which arc hinged to a central beam (8) of the frame (2), and supported by telescopic struts (36) which are pressured to palance the weight force of the closure portions (16,18) to provide smooth opening and closing thereof, the closure portions (16,18) being arranged so as to provide easy access to the interior of the container (60) when in an open condition.
