To secure a lid and a container each with handles by using a restraint strap having opposite end portions ending in a releasable latch member . To secure a lid with a handle and container with no handles a resilient tension strap encircles the body of the container threaded through the loop of the first end portion of a restraint strap, the second end portion of the restraint ending in a releasable latch member would clip onto the handle of the lid Container and lid with no handles, a resilient tension strap encircles the body of the container threaded through the loop of the first end portion of the restraint strap. On the lid, a eyehole bolt is inserted along with two washers, one on either side of the lid encircling the hole and held fast with a nut which is screwed onto the eyehole bolt thus securing the eyehole bolt to the lid. The second end portion of the restraint strap ending in a releasable latch member will attach to the eyehole bolt thus securing the lid to the container.
