ABSTRACT The invention relates to a container, such as a can, which is provided with a band of tixotropic lacquer in regions of the container which are particularly subjected to corrosion, e.g., on the longitudinal seam of the container. Furthermore the invention relates to a method and an apparatus for manufacturing such a container by pressing out the tixotropic lacquer through a nozzle, preferably with two or more openings, and preferably while suitably adjusting the temperature of the container, and/or the lacquer, and/ or the lacquer band. -1-
