-7- CONTAINER ASSEMBLY INCLUDING EXTRUDED SUPPORT RING ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A container assembly which includes a two-piece can wherein the body is formed of aluminum and has a very thin wall such as not to be self-sustaining particularly when filled with a product under pressure. The body is provided with a bottom support in the form of a sleeve of plastics material which is stretched over the lower part of the can body and thus secured thereto. The support is in the form of a sleeve having a radially inwardly directed bead which engages the bottom wall of the can body and serves to position the support on the can body. The sup- port is preferably in the form of a plastics material sleeve which is formed by extruding a thin walled tube and then thermoforming a bead in a terminal portion of the tube and cutting off the desired portion to form the sleeve.
