A dispenser for a cosmetic stick comprising (a) a removable cap (2) in the form of a sleeve having an open upper end, for containing said cosmetic stick (7), (b) a base (4) in the form of a sleeve having an open upper end, (c) fitted inside the base sleeve (4), an internal sleeve (6) open at both ends for containing the cosmetic stick (7), (d) a product advancing mechanism (9) comprising a platform (8) which forms the bottom closure of the internal tubular sleeve (6), the platform (8) having an upper surface and a lower suface, and (e) a porous material (10) affixed to the upper surface of the platform and securing the cosmetic stick (7) to the platform (8).
