ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A container for disposing of waste is provided. The container comprises an upper portion and a lower portion which are removably engaged to define an enclosure for the waste. The lower portion comprises a plurality of water permeable passages formed therein. The upper portion includes solar radiation collection means for heating the enclosure. The container is suitably used to decompose biodegradable waste. Preferably, the container is used to decompose daily household refuse.
