A container (10) for heating frozen French fries in a toaster. The frozen French fries preferably have a moisture content by weight ranging from 35 % to 55 % prior to heating in the toaster. The container (10) comprises an upright structure adapted to removably fit into a vertical slot of a conventional toaster and be supported by the toaster during a toaster heating cycle. The upright structure has a front (12) and a back (14) connected to a closed bottom (18). The front and back have apertures through the front and back for passing heat from the toaster to frozen French fries located inside the container and for passing steam from heated French fries to outside of the container. The container has an openable end (21) to permit removal of the French fries after heating. The closed bottom forms a drip through for collecting drippings from the French fries. The container also has a means for protecting ends of the French fries from direct exposure to the radiant heat from the toaster so that the ends of the French fries are not burned.
La présente invention concerne un récipient (10) pour chauffer des pommes de terre frites congelées dans un grille-pain. Les pommes de terre frites congelées ont, de préférence, une humidité spécifique en poids comprise entre 35 % et 55 % avant leur chauffage dans le grille-pain. Le récipient (10) est constitué d'une structure verticale amovible façonnée pour s'adapter dans une fente verticale d'un grille-pain classique et pour rester en place dans le grille-pain pendant un cycle de chauffage du grille-pain. La structure verticale comporte une partie avant (12) et une partie arrière (14) fixées à un fond fermé (18). La partie avant et la partie arrière présentent chacune des orifices servant, d'une part, à laisser passer la chaleur du grille-pain vers les pommes de terre frites congelées disposées à l'intérieur du récipient et, d'autre part, à évacuer du récipient la vapeur dégagée par les pommes de terre frites chauffées. La structure verticale comprend, à une extrémité, une ouverture (21) par laquelle on retire les pommes de terre frites après chauffage. Le fond fermé (18) forme une gouttière de ramassage des gouttes libérées par des pommes de terre frites. Le récipient est également équipé d'un élément qui empêche les extrémités des pommes de terre frites de brûler en les protégeant d'une exposition directe à la chaleur rayonnée par le grille-pain.
