ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A container for liquid specimen having cap for holding liquid specimen such as blood and urine, used in the field of clinical examination or the like. In a container for liquid specimen comprising a cap (10) and a tubular container main body (12) opened and closed by the cap (10), the bottom (14) of the container main body (12) is formed about the middle of the tubular body (16). An elastic soft member (22) such as rubber is held in the opening (20) made in the middle of the upper surface of the cap (10). Furthermore, a light shielding part (28) is disclosed in the lower part of the tubular body (16), and a specimen adhering part (34) for preparing smeared specimen, extending downward, is provided at a position deviated to the end from the middle of the lower surface of the elastic soft member (22). Accordingly, it may be used same as an ordinary container for liquid specimen, and it is easy to use without damaging the specimen even in the case of a small amount of specimen, and it is applicable to both open system and closed system. - 15 -
