ABSTRACT A cup-shaped pressure compensating vessel for a container for metered dispensing of liquids, which container includes a withdrawal and venting opening which in operation is directed downwards in a dispensing position and which container is connected to a metered dispensing system. Said pressure compensating vessel including a rim situated close to the withdrawal and venting aperture of the container and being open only toward the withdrawal and renting opening and simultaneously forming the closure for the container through having its rim sealingly connected to the rim of the withdrawal and venting opening of the container. Said pressure compensating vessel being incorporated within the container which is constructed as a packaging unit.
