A container for welding wire comprises a box-like body (10) having a bottom (12) and a side wall (16), the side wall (16) having a polygonal cross section with comers (80), and stabilising elements (40) arranged at at least some of the corners (80). The stabilising elements (40) extend upwardly from the bottom (12) and have an outer shell portion comprising a corner portion (84) facing the adjacent side wall (16) and an inner portion (82) facing an interior of the container for housing welding wire (W). The corner portion (84) has a shape adapted to the shape of the adjacent corner (80). The inner portion defines a continuous inner wall.

Contenant pour fil à souder comprenant un corps en forme de boîte (10) doté d'un fond (12) et d'une paroi latérale (16), la section transversale de la paroi latérale (16) étant polygonale et dotée de coins (80), ainsi que des éléments stabilisateurs (40) placés dans au moins certains des coins (80). Les éléments stabilisateurs (40) s'étendent vers le haut à partir du fond (12) et sont constitués d'une coque extérieure comprenant une partie en coin (84) faisant face à la paroi latérale adjacente (16) ainsi que d'une partie intérieure (82) faisant face à l'intérieur du contenant pour loger le fil à souder (w).
