A container for wetted tissues comprises a container body, a stationary lid member and a movable lid member each molded from a suitable synthetic resin material. The stationary lid member fits on the container body to close an upper opening of the container body and the movable lid member is hinged to the stationary lid member so as to cover an opening formed substantially in a central zone of the stationary lid member through which the wetted tissues will be picked out. Any one of an upper surface of the stationary lid member and an inner surface of the movable lid member is provided with an elastic strip fixed across the hinged portion. As the movable lid member is closed, the elastic strip is curved generally in a U-shape or .OMEGA.-shape within a space defined between the inner surface of the movable lid member and the upper surface of the stationary lid member and thereby charged with an elastic energy biasing the movable lid member to be opened. Between a free end of the movable lid member and a front edge of the stationary lid member opposed to this free end as the movable lid member is closed, there are provided a locking projection adapted to be engaged with or disengaged from each other as at least one of a depressor means provided on the stationary lid member and a region in the proximity thereof is elastically deformed.

Cette invention concerne un contenant pour serviettes humides formé d'un corps, d'un couvercle fixe et d'un couvercle mobile, tous moulés en résine synthétique ayant des propriétés appropriées. Le couvercle fixe s'ajuste sur le corps pour en fermer l'ouverture supérieure et le couvercle mobile est monté à charnières sur ledit couvercle fixe de manière à fermer, en position rabattue, une ouverture sensiblement centrée de celui-ci par où seront extraites les serviettes humides. Une bande élastique relie la face supérieure du couvercle fixe à la face inférieure du couvercle mobile. Elle se replie en forme de U ou d'oméga à l'intérieur d'un logement ménagé dans les deux dits couvercles. Ainsi repliée contre son élasticité naturelle, elle favorise l'ouverture du contenant dès que la patte de verrouillage prévue du côté libre du couvercle mobile est dégagée de la saillie de retenue escamotable faisant partie intégrante de la paroi frontale du couvercle fixe déformable élastiquement dans cette région.
