A container (100) for holding pourable contents includes an exterior surface, an interior surface, and a reclosable pour spout. The pour spout includes a flange member (20) having first and second sides. The second side of the flange member is se- cured to the outer periphery of an aperture in the wall of the container (100). The spout also includes an extension (24) which is connected to and extends outwardly from the first side of the flange member. A stem (26) is connected to and extends inwardly from the second side of the flange member and into the container. At least a portion (25) of the stem is turned outwardly and tow- ard the interior surface of the wall to which the flange member is secured to produce a mechanical engagement between the turned stem and the container which tends to resist any tendency of the pour spout to be pulled from the container.
