A contamination-resistant outlet valve such as for a gas mask comprises a first seal and, upstream of the first seal, a second seal. The first seal is formed by the upstream side of a resiliently flexible sheet being born on the outer face of a valve seat ring. The second seal is formed by a protrusion on the upstream side of the sheet being born on the inner face of the ring. The second seal acts as a baffle to protect the first seal from contamination.
