A method and apparatus for automatically translating documents from one language into another. The method includes comparing sample first and second documents representing the same, or similar ideas, written in a first and second language respectively, and creating a database associating words in the first language with words in the second language that are translations of each other. The method can also include translating a document from a first language into a second language. The method includes parsing the document in the first language into words or segments, finding words or segments in the second language that correspond to selected words or segments in the first language, and finding words or segments in the second language that correspond to combinations of words or segments in the first language.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant la traduction de documents d'une langue (1) vers une autre (2) . Le procédé comporte la comparaison de premier et deuxième documents types représentatifs de mêmes idées, ou d'idées similaires, écrits dans une première et deuxième langues (1, 2) respectivement, et la création d'une base de données associant des mots dans la première langue à des mots dans la deuxième langue (2) qui sont les traductions d'une langue vers l'autre et inversement. Le procédé peut également comprendre la traduction d'un document depuis une première langue (1) vers une deuxième langue (2). Le procédé comprend l'analyse du document dans la première langue (1) en mots ou en segments, la recherche de mots et segments dans la deuxième langue (2) correspondant aux mots ou segments choisis dans la première langue (1), et la recherche de mots ou segments dans la deuxième langue (2) correspondant à des combinaisons de mots ou segments dans la première langue (1).
