ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE CONTINUOUS BACTERIAL MUTATION PROCESS Disclosed is a method of continuously biologically acting on a target chemical in an aqueous stream by cultivating bacteria under non-growth-limiting conditions, exposing the cultivated bacteria to mutation-producing ultraviolet light, and exposing the mutated bacteria to the target chemical under growth-limiting conditions. Also disclosed is apparatus for performing this method.
