ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a continuous crusher which is intended for use in crushing coal, rocks and other minerals, the crusher being of the kind which comprises a rotatable crusher roll and a conveyor for the mineral to be crushed, said conveyor being disposed beneath the crusher roll to provide an aperture between the conveyor and the crusher roll through which in use the mineral to be crushed will flow. A continuous crusher of this kind and in accordance with the invention embodies a crushing roller which is mounted in a machine housing for rotation therein, said crushing roller being in the general form of a crank- shaft including a central crank pin, two crank webs located at opposite ends of the central crank pin and two crank journals which are each supported in said machine housing and which each extend from a respective crank web. The crank pin serves as a crushing tool carrier and the axial space intermediate the crank webs is empty so as to provide such an empty space which begins at least in the vicinity of the rotational axis of the crushing roller and which extends radially outwards in a direction away from the crank pin.
