ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A continuous cycle pressing apparatus which comprises a horizontal conveying belt aligned with a making line, a fixed bridge frame located above the conveying belt in the movement direction thereof, upper pressing means mounted on the upper portion of the bridge frame, side autocentering pressing means mounted on the uprights of the bridge frame and operative to transversely reciprocate to locate the side pressing means above the conveying belt during the pressing step and laterally spaced therefrom during the advancing step of the conveying belt, after each pressing step, and driving members for actuating the upper and side pressing means and for transversely moving the side pressing means. The pressing apparatus of the invention is particularly suitable for assembling furniture pieces.
