A method for interpolating images using continuous extension functions of inverse discrete transformation is described. The method comprises defining at least one block of an image dataset and calculating and storing forward discrete orbit function transform coefficients representing the at least one block. The method involves defining a first and second different spatial resolution and calculating a first processed image dataset using at least one continuous extension of discrete orbit function transform representing said at least one block using the stored discrete orbit function transform coefficients and the first different spatial resolution. A second processed image dataset is calculated using at least one continuous extension of discrete orbit function transform representing said at least one block using the stored discrete orbit function transform coefficients and the second different spatial resolution.

La présente invention porte sur un procédé pour l'interpolation d'images utilisant des fonctions d'extension continue de transformation discrète inversée. Le procédé comporte la définition d'au moins un bloc d'un jeu de données d'image et le calcul et le stockage des coefficients de transformation de fonction orbitale discrète d'avance représentant le au moins un bloc. Le procédé implique la définition d'une première et une seconde résolutions spatiales différentes et le calcul d'un premier jeu de données d'image traitées utilisant au moins une extension continue de transformation de fonction orbitale discrète représentant ledit au moins un bloc utilisant les coefficients de transformation stockés de fonction orbitale discrète et la première résolution spatiale différente.
