A substantially continuous method for forming a structural panel (2) of indefinite length. The method comprises the steps of preparing a settable mixture, conveying the mixture in a flowable state to a load chamber (6), and progressively forcing the mixture from the load chamber (6) through an inlet (15) toward an outlet (16) of an open ended mould chamber (17) by compression means at least partially curing the mixture within the mould chamber (17), resisting movement of the mixture through the mould chamber (17) until a predetermined consolidation pressure or density within the mould chamber (17) is achieved, subsequently allowing movement of the mixture through the mould chamber (17) in response to further mixture being first forced through the inlet (15) by the compression means, allowing the mixture to cure, and thereby progressively forming a structural panel of substantially indefinite length.
Procédé sensiblement continu permettant de former un panneau structurel (2) d'une longueur indéfinie. Selon le procédé, on prépare un mélange prêt à être comprimé; on amène ledit mélange à l'état fluide à une chambre d'alimentation (6); on pousse progressivement le mélange de façon à l'amener de ladite chambre (6) à un orifice de sortie (16) d'une cavité de moulage (17) à extrémité ouverte, après lui avoir fait traverser un orifice d'entrée (15), au moyen d'un système de compression qui durcit au moins partiellement le mélange à l'intérieur de la cavité (17); on résiste au déplacement du mélange à travers la cavité (17) jusqu'au moment où on obtient une certaine pression ou densité de consolidation à l'intérieur de la cavité; puis on oblige le mélange à traverser ladite cavité (17), en réponse au fait qu'il est encore forcé par le système de compression à traverser l'orifice d'entrée, en le laissant durcir, de façon à former progressivement un panneau structurel d'une longueur sensiblement indéfinie.
