ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a process for the continu- ous mass polymerization of a monomer formulation comprising at least principally a monoalkenylaromatic monomer and an ethyl- enically unsaturated nitrile monomer having dispersed therein a first grafted diene rubber to form a first partially poly- merized mixture; polymerizing said first mixture to form a second partially polymerized mixture followed by dispersing a second grafted rubber in said second mixture to form a third partially polymerized mixture. The third mixture is devola- tilized to form a polyblend of a polymer of said monomers and said dispersed grafted diene rubbers having a bimodal particle size distribution. The process is a continuous one run at a high temperature and high rate to produce polyblends having a matrix polymer phase of pre-determined average molecular weight and molecular weight distribution.
