Abstract There is disclosed a method for the preparation of morpholine in a continuous reaction by reacting diethylene- glycol and an aqueous solution of ammonia using as a catalyst a particular granular form of modified Raney nickel catalyst which has been prepared by reacting a nickel-aluminum alloy with an alkaline earth or an alkali metal hydroxide in which the molar ratio of ammonia to diethyleneglycol ranges from about 1.2/1 to about 10/1, and in which the molar ratio of water to diethyleneglycol ranges from about 2.35/1 to about 12.46/1.
