ABSTRACT The invention concerns continuous orifice fill apparatus for use in cementing casings in place. The ap- paratus comprises an upper cross member coupled to the casing and containing a flapper valve assembly, and a lower cross member containing the movable valve seat mem- ber. The movable valve seat member contains an inwardly extending pressure deformable valve seat at its lower end. A hinged flapper valve of the flapper valve assembly is held open by the movable valve seat member. Seating a valve ball in the pressure deformable valve seat and ap- plying sufficient pressure through the casing forces the movable valve seat member downward to its lower position, allowing the flapper valve to close. When the pressure above the valve ball is increased further, the ball is forced through the pressure deformable valve seat. The valve ball may then be similarly used to actuate another continuous orifice fill disposed lower in the casing string.
