This involves a continuous process for preparing homopolymers or copolymers by micromixing by impact free jets of fluids made up of (1) monomers and (2) an initiation system. The process consists in micromixing fluids (1) and (2) and recovering the mixture of these fluids in the form of a resulting jet Jr, derived from the point of impact (I). The micromixture is obtained: (a) by forming at least one group of at least two jets Ja of identical or different fluids, concurring to the point of impact (I), the jets Ja of the same group all being of identical geometry, their axes being arranged in such a way that their projections on a plane perpendicular to axis (A) of the resulting jet Jr are distributed in a regular angular pattern and these axes are inclined in relation to the said axis (A) of the same .alpha. angle not zero but at most 90 degrees; (b) by directing simultaneously on the point of impact (I) at least one jet Jb of a fluid different from at least one of the fluids of said jets Ja to form the resulting jet Jr , the axis of the jet or jets Jb being inclined in relation to the axis of the said resulting jet Jr of a .beta.angle less than the .alpha. angle; and (c) by recovering the mixture of fluids from the jets Ja and Jb in the form of the resulting jet Jr consisting of homopolymers and copolymers. This process is especially beneficial in the case of very rapid reactions.

Le procédé pour préparer en continu des homopolymères ou des copolymères par micromélange par impact de jets libres de fluides formés (1) de monomère(s) et (2) d'un système d'amorçage consiste à micromélanger les fluides (1) et (2) et à récupérer le mélange de ces fluides sous forme d'un jet résultant Jr, issu du point d'impact (I). Le micromélange est obtenu: a) en formant au moins un groupe d'au moins deux jets Ja des fluides identiques ou différents, concourant au point d'impact (I), les jets Ja d'un même groupe étant tous de géométrie identique, leurs axes étant disposés de telle sorte que leurs projections sur un plan perpendiculaire à l'axe (A) du jet résultant Jr soient réparties angulairement de manière régulière et ces axes étant inclinés par rapport audit axe (A) d'un même angle .alpha. non nul d'au plus 90°; b) en dirigeant, simultanément, sur le point d'impact (I) au moins un jet Jb d'un fluide différent d'au moins un des fluides desdits jets Ja pour former le jet résultant Jr, l'axe du ou des jets Jb étant inclinés par rapport à l'axe du jet résultant Jr d'un angle .beta. inférieur à l'angle .alpha.; et c) en récupérant le mélange des fluides des jets Ja et Jb sous forme du jet résultant Jr constitué par les homopolymères ou les copolymères. Ce procédé est particulièrement avantageux dans le cas de réactions très rapides.
