An improved continuous process for converting methane, natural gas, or other hydrocarbon feedstocks into one or more higher hydrocarbons or olefins by continuously cycling through the steps of alkane halogenation, product formation (carbon-carbon coupling), product separation, and regeneration of halogen is provided. Preferably, the halogen is continually recovered by reacting hydrobromic acid with air or oxygen. The invention provides an efficient route to aromatic compounds, aliphatic compounds, mixtures of aliphatic and aromatic compounds, olefins, gasoline grade materials, and other useful products.
L'invention concerne un procédé continu amélioré de conversion de méthane, de gaz naturel ou d'autres matières premières hydrocarbonées en un ou plusieurs hydrocarbures ou oléfines de masse plus élevée par cyclage continu des étapes d'halogénation de l'alcane, de formation du produit (couplage carbone-carbone), de séparation du produit et de régénération de l'halogène. L'halogène est de préférence récupéré en continu par réaction d'acide bromhydrique avec de l'air ou de l'oxygène. L'invention constitue une voie efficace d'obtention de composés aromatiques, de composés aliphatiques, de mélanges de composés aliphatiques et aromatiques, d'oléfines, de matériaux de qualité essence et d'autres produits utiles.
