The present invention concerns a process for manufacturing an electric cable. In particular, the process comprises the steps of: a) feeding a conductor at a predetermined feeding speed; b) extruding a thermoplastic insulating layer in a radially outer position with respect to the conductor; c) cooling the extruded insulating layer at a temperature not higher than 70~C, and d) forming a circumferentially closed metallic screen around said extruded insulating layer. The process according to the invention is carried out continuously, i.e. the time occurring between the end of the cooling step and the beginning of the screen forming step is inversely proportional to the feeding speed of the conductor.

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à fabriquer un câble électrique. Ce procédé consiste à : a) effectuer l'apport d'un conducteur à une vitesse d'alimentation prédéterminée ; b) extruder une couche isolante thermoplastique dans une position extérieure radiale par rapport au conducteur ; c) refroidir la couche isolante extrudée à une température non supérieure à 70 ·C et d) créer un blindage métallique à circonférence fermée autour de ladite couche isolante extrudée. Ce procédé est exécuté en continu, c'est-à-dire que le temps entre la fin de l'étape de refroidissement et le commencement de l'étape de création du blindage est inversement proportionnel à la vitesse d'alimentation du conducteur.
