ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides in a process for producing glycide by reacting allyl alcohol with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of tungsten compounds, distilling the excess allyl alcohol and the major portion of the water in vacuo, dividing the bottom mixture thus obtained at a temperature of from 110 to 220°C and at a pressure of from 5 to 60 torr in a falling-film evaporator into an exhaust vapour consisting primarily of glycide, higher-boiling by-products and the residual portion of the water and a bottom product of glycerin, polyglycerin and the catalyst the improvement in which said exhaust vapour; upon leaving the falling-film evaporator is directly separated into glycide, water and higher boiling by- products at a pressure of from 5 to 60 torr.
