A process is described for continuous production of anhydrosugar alcohols by continuous introducing of sugar alcohols and/or monoanhydrosugar alcohols into a reaction vessel and dehydration in the presence of an acid catalyst and solvent, preferably an organic solvent, in which the resultant reaction products are soluble. Water and the organic solvent having the dissolved reaction product are each continuously removed from the reaction chamber. The reaction product is separated from the removed solvent, which is recycled into the reaction vessel. The reaction product is optionally purified by distillation and/or recrystallization. The purified reaction product obtained is particularly suitable as a starting product for producing polymers, and has a purity of at least 99.0 %.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication en continu d'alcools de sucre anhydres par l'introduction en continu dans une cuve de réaction d'alcools de sucre et/ou d'alcools de sucre mono-anhydres en présence d'un catalyseur acide et d'un solvant, de préférence organique, de manière à ce que les produits de la réaction soient solubles. On évacue en continu de la chambre de réaction l'eau et le solvant organique contenu dans le produit de réaction, l'un après l'autre. -e produit de réaction est séparé du solvant restant, qui est réinjecté dans la cuve de réaction. Le produit de réaction est éventuellement purifié par distillation et/ou par recristallisation. Le produit purifié ainsi obtenu convient particulièrement bien comme produit de départ servant à la fabrication de polymères et possède une pureté d'au moins 99,0 %.
