The invention relates to a process for continuous production of an aqueous solution of the alkaline salt of arylacetic acid by alkaline hydrolysis of an aryl acetonitrile. The process consists in contacting an arylacetonitrile with an aqueous solution of an alkaline hydroxide in a mixing zone, introducing the mixture obtained into a reaction zone, transferring the reaction medium to a separation zone and then a stripping zone and recovering the aqueous solution of the alkaline salt of arylacetic acid which may be neutralized and diluted. The invention also relates to an installation for implementing the process.

L'invention concerne un procédé continu de fabrication d'une solution aqueuse de sel alcalin d'acide arylacétique par hydrolyse alcaline d'un arylacétonitrile qui consiste à mettre en contact dans une zone de mélange un arylacétonitrile avec une solution aqueuse d'un hydroxyde alcalin, à introduire le mélange obtenu dans une zone de réaction, à transférer le milieu réactionnel dans une zone de séparation puis dans une zone de stripping puis à récupérer la solution aqueuse du sel alcalin d'acide arylacétique éventuellement neutralisée et diluée. L'invention concerne également une intallation pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé.
