ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The smoke channel of a continuous ring furnace is an inclined insulated metal pipe through which a tube extends in the lower part thereof. A heating fluid conveyed through the tube prevents cooling and solidification of tar deposits which condense from smoke within the channel. The fluid tar deposits run along the inclined metal pipe and are discharged through outlets into removable containers. The arrangement prevents plugging of the smoke channel by the deposits.
