ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The backing blocks of belts such as endless steel belts of a continuous press, e.g. for the production of chipboard or the like are provided with a friction reducing lining from rubber, plastics or the like. A seal, preferably a peripheral seal, surrounds the area of distribution of lubricant delivered between the lining and the respective backed belt, to avoid leakages of the lubricant. The device includes drainage means for returning the lubricant removed from the backed belt into a lubricant circulating system.
