A continuously variable transmission (1000) having a plurality of traction planets (1008) arranged angularly about a main drive axis (1010), each traction planet (1008) having a tiltable axis of rotation (1009A, 1009B), the continuously variable transmission comprising: a first stator plate (1014) coaxial with the main drive axis (1010), the first stator plate (1014) having a plurality of slots; a second stator plate (1016) coaxial with the main drive axis (1010), the second stator plate (1016) having a plu-rality of radial slots (1044 - Fig. 10); and wherein the slots (1040, 1044) guide the tiltable axes of rotation (1009A, 1009B) of the traction planets (1008); and wherein the first stator plate (1014) is configured to rotate relative to the second stator plate (1016) characterized in that the slots of the first stator plate are radially offset slots (1040 - Fig. 10). Operation: Due to the radial offset slots, relative rotation between the stator plates results in skewing of the traction planets and the skewing results in forces which tilt (automatically) the traction planets to an equilibrium condition. Each tilted position constitutes a different transmission ratio.
La présente invention concerne une transmission à variation continue (1000) présentant une pluralité de planètes de traction (1008) disposées de manière angulaire autour d'un axe d'entraînement principal (1010), chaque planète de traction (1008) présentant un axe de rotation inclinable (1009A, 1009B), la transmission à variation continue comprenant : une première plaque de stator (1014) disposée de manière coaxiale par rapport à l'axe d'entraînement principal (1010), la première plaque de stator (1014) présentant une pluralité de fentes; une seconde plaque de stator (1016) disposée de manière coaxiale par rapport à l'axe d'entraînement central (1010), la seconde plaque de stator (1016) présentant une pluralité de fentes radiales (1044 - Fig.10); les fentes (1040, 1044) guidant les axes de rotation inclinables (1009A, 1009B) des planètes de traction (1008); la première plaque de stator (1014) étant configurée pour se mettre en rotation par rapport à la seconde plaque de stator (1016) caractérisée en ce que les fentes de la première plaque de stator sont des fentes décalées radialement (1040 - Fig.10). En raison des fentes décalées radialement, la rotation entre les plaques de stator entraîne la mise en biais des planètes de traction et la mise en biais génère des forces qui inclinent (automatiquement) les planètes de traction dans un état d'équilibre. Chaque position inclinée constitue un rapport de transmission différent.
