A support member for components of a continuously variable transmission comprises a disk having a central hole and an outer circumference. A plurality of grooves extend radially from the outer circumference toward the central hole and a plurality of concave surfaces extend radially from the outer circumference toward the central hole such that the concave surfaces are angularly interposed between the grooves.
