QUICK DISCONNECT LOCKING COUPLER FOR REMOVABLE SEAT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A contoured, corrective seat is disclosed for use in connection with a wheelchair wherein the mounting between the seat assembly and the wheelchair is of the quick-release type, and the seat assembly includes a seat frame which is adjustable as to height, depth, and angular relation between a molded buttocks supporting portion and a molded back supporting portion thereof, and is also adjustable between the seat proper and the wheelchair. The quick-release arrangement includes a quick disconnect locking coupler having a shaft with outer threads coupled to the seat frame by means of a link and clamp combination. The shaft includes a lower recessed distal end with a semi-circular slot therein and a threaded collar which is movable along the length of the shaft by rotating the collar. The slot in the recessed distal end of the shaft is adapted to receive and provide support for the end of a trunnion. With a slotted distal end of the trunnion positioned within the lower recessed distal end of the shaft, the collar is moved to the end of the shaft so as to cover the end of the trunnion and maintain the trunnion securely coupled to the shaft.
