- 13 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A contoured fitment is provided for securing to a container holding a solution. The contoured fitment is secured to the container by a seal. The seal formed across the fitment secures the fitment to the container and reduces stress at a juncture between the seal across the fitment and a point of the seal between the fitment and the container where the fitment meets the seal. A method is provided for securing the fitment to the container by providing a contoured fitment and a resultant contoured seal across the fitment.
