The invention provides intrafallopian devices and non-surgical methods for their placement to prevent conception. The efficacy of the device (10) is enhanced by forming the structure at least in part from copper or a copper alloy. The device (10) is anchored within the fallopian tube by a lumen-traversing region of the resilient structure which has a helical outer surface, together with a portion of the resilient structure which is biased to form a bent secondary shape, the secondary shape having a larger cross section than the fallopian tube. The resilient structure is restrained in a straight configuration and transcervically inserted within the fallopian tube, where it is released. Optionally, permanent sterilization is effected by passing a current through the resilient structure to the tuba] walls.
L'invention concerne des dispositifs intrafallopien et des procédés non chirurgicaux d'installation de ces derniers à des fins contraceptives. L'efficacité du dispositif (10) est accrue grâce à une structure constituée au moins en partie de cuivre ou d'un alliage de cuivre. Ledit dispositif (10) est ancré dans la trompe de fallope par une zone traversant la lumière de la structure élastique qui présente une surface extérieure hélicoïdale, conjointement avec une partie de la structure élastique est qui sollicitée de sorte qu'elle présente une deuxième forme courbe et qu'elle ait une section supérieure à celle de la trompe de fallope. La structure élastique est maintenue sous sa forme droite et est insérée de manière transcervicale dans le trompe de fallope, dans laquelle est relâchée. Eventuellement, on procède à une stérilisation permanente en faisant passer un courant dans la structure élastique et jusqu'à la paroi de la trompe.
