A device for testing visual contrast sensitivity is disclosed whereby the contrast between a vectographically polarized test symbol (12, 22a) and a reference background (24) may be continuously varied by changing the direction of polarization (16') of a polarization analyzer (16) situated along the test axis (8'). The invention is practiced by providing a chart projector or a conventional refractor with a rotatable analyzer (16).

On décrit un dispositif pour évaluer la sensibilité visuelle au contraste, dans lequel on peut faire varier d'une manière continue le contraste entre un symbole servant à l'évaluation polarisée vectorgraphiquement (12, 22a) et un arrière-plan de référence (24), en changeant la direction de polarisation (16') d'un analyseur de polarisation (16) situé sur l'axe d'évaluation (8'). L'invention est mise en oeuvre grâce à un projecteur de diagrammes ou un réfracteur traditionnel avec un analyseur rotatif (16).
