ABSTRACT The invention relates to a control apparatus for the low pressure evaporator of a refrigeration plant, comprising a main valve of which the closure member is controlled by a differential pressure- actuated servo-element, a pilot valve of which the closure member is controlled by a float governed by the level in the evaporator, and a pilot conduit leading to the seat of the pilot valve from the supply side of the main valve by way of a first throttle serving to produce the pressure difference acting on the servo-element.
